Pharmacy Technician or Dental Assistant?

I wasn't sure which I want to do, I'm already in the dental field but was interested w/working w/medicine also. Which pays more?

Pharmacy Technician or Dental Assistant?
I would second the person who suggested to write down the pro's and con's of both professions. Please also remember to be very wary of 'online schools' or distance schools that employers may not find reputable and that includes penn foster and stratford career institute. It is more wise to look into a school from the local county vo-tech school or community college (perhaps non-credit programs).

And here is a website from the US Occupational Outlook Handbook for general information about various careers: www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search 'pharmacy technician', 'dental assistant' or any other job field that you are considering.
Reply:Try www.salary.com for the answers you want.
Reply:Look into other areas before deciding on Dental Assisting ,you would be doing yourself a HUGE FAVOR, I've been doing this for 20 years and had I known then what I know now I would have RAN in the other direction as fast as I could.
Reply:I'm not sure about dental assistants, but since I work for one of the largest LTC pharmacy chains in the nation, I can tell you that pharmacy technician = minimum wage and minimum benefits, usually. Better pay may come with experience, but it's basically the same as any other job regarding entry level pay. I do have friends that are dental assistants, and they love what they do. Honestly, you're really the only person who can answer this question. Write down the reasons (honestly) why you're interested in each, and the good and bad things you can think of for both jobs. It will help you tremendously in your decision.

I have a far better suggestion; further your education %26amp; become the dentist or the pharmacist. It took me 15 years to go back to school %26amp; finish, but it's the smartest thing I ever did.
