Is a dental assistant job a good paying job?

It's a great paying job!

As far as the 'contract', I've never heard of that...

Like any other job, though, you need to earn your pay increases by attending continuing education classes, mandated infection control, OSHA, get certified and/or licensed and keep your Healthcare Provider CPR current.

You can't just walk into an office and expect to make the 'big bucks' right away......

Once you're settled into assisting chairside, it's a good idea to learn the 'front desk' as well... then you'll be considered 'cross-trained' and are able to handle both tasks... and you'll be more valuable to your employer.

If you live in a state that allows expanded duties, even better...

Best of luck!

No probably minimum wage
Reply:Yes, I've heard it's a good paying job. A lot of times, you'll have to sign contract with dentists to do work for them.

Here is a website you can refer to:

I hope that helps! :)
Reply:it would have to be to look into all those mouths every day
Reply:not really, i am a dental assistant myself and i hate my job i feel worthless and very undervalued. It feels as though I'm not appriciated at all, i wouldn't recommend it as a career choice. It is however a really good stepping stone if you are considering a career as a dental hygeinist or dental therapist. Oh and these are good paying jobs!
