If you join the air force as a mental or dental assistant what are odds of being sent to Iraq?

My husband wants to join as a mental or dental assistant. He swears that he will be sent to a place where we can be together. Is this true?

If you join the air force as a mental or dental assistant what are odds of being sent to Iraq?
First thing he will be sent where he is needed. if it is iraq then it will be iraq.
Reply:If you join the US military then you need a mental checkup and better, deserve to be shot up the Iraqis for invading and destroying their nation.

No one should be enlisting in the current Nazi US military until it quits its illegal occupation of Iraq.

Bush and his cronies and war mongers have destroyed America, why do you want to help them more?
Reply:The majority of the troops in Iraq are support personnel. And given the present circumstances, I'd say the chances are pretty good that he'd be going.
Reply:No.

He takes the same oath as everyone else who joined - no matter what the job is. If he (and you) are not prepared to make the same sacrafices as other men and women who volunteer to go into harms way to protect others, then perhaps you should look elsewhere for employment.

Join the peace corps.
Reply:Generally I would trust your husband.

And I am not going to pretend to know anything about the way the military does bussiness, but I know a good amount about the Iraq war. Right now troop levels are spread so thin , and with the tours being lengthened the military is stretched to the breaking point. If he has any combat training he might be deployed to Iraq. I mean, Hell, you can be 44 years old and they will still let you sign up right now.

Good chances are though, he knows more than I do about his job and is telling you what he is being told. I would imagine a dentist would not be sent to Iraq, as it is a specialty job and the government tends to treat those well. And I am sure he has requested duty in a non combat zone. If he does get sent as support he will be out of harms way and safe, at least.

So breathe easy!
Reply:i rember joining the military and trying to get a job that oo mabe the odds are good i wont go to iraq honestly though if they need him he will be sent
Reply:ODDS ARE THE SAME AS ANY OTHER SERVICE OUT THERE NO MATTER WHAT KIND OF JOB YOU HAVE. YOU NEED TO REMEMBER, ONE OF THE REASONS PEOPLE SIGN UP FOR SERVICE IS FOR SERVICE TO COUNTRY. IF YOU DONT HAVE IN YOUR MIND THAT YOU SPOUSE HAS THE CHANCE OF GETTING DEPLOYED TO A COMBAT ZONE, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG BUSINESS.
Reply:He has the same odds as everyone else in deploying to the war.
