I'm currently a first time dental assistant and would like to pursue assisting for a cosmetic dentist. Are there any recommended reading materials or how it differs from general dentistry?
There are not many resources out there for cosmetic assistants.
Cosmetic Dental Assistant?
It's the same exact thing as general dentistry, except that the practice will have aroma therapy, possibly give patients hand massages and offer therpeutic type services such as warm pillow, warm towellete after procedures.
Reply:I looked on http://www.wikipedia.org albeit not for professional research, and they do have a passage on the 'dental spa'. (It apparently used to be referred to as 'boutique dentistry' :)
