DENTAL ASSISTANT! i have questions, i wanna become dental assistant...?
Its hard work because you are the dentist's right hand.
2-4 years.
you need to take science group.
Its good money.
It depends on whome you are working for, if the dentist is good.

Reply:Dental assisting is hard work. Depending on whether you are in a big town or small town, the pay can differ greatly. In larger areas the pay is pretty decent. Obviously, dental hygienists make more. Dental assistants can go to college or can be trained in office and take certification tests. The college part is normally a 1-2 year program. Some basic biology/chemistry can be a good idea. Many vocational schools offer dental assisting. I was an assistant for 3 years. It was fun, but it didn't pay that well in my area so instead I followed my real passion and went to hygiene school which pays much better and you can make your own schedule as far as 3 days, 4 days a week. 3-4 days a week is full time for a hygienist. Depending on schools, you are looking at 3-5 years. 1-2 in pre req classes and 2-3 years in the actual hygiene program. Then you have to take boards. This is much more difficult than assisting classes and tests, but worth it. You can get either an associates or bachelors degree, both are the same. It just depends if you want to further your career and teach later (which you need a masters for). Oh yeah, have to be sure you go to an accredited dental hygiene school or you can't get a license.
